Having spent nearly two decades running a successful dog training business as well as volunteering, training, and fostering for local rescue organizations, Diamond Dogs Inc founder, Leah Dawson, couldn’t help but notice one glaring commonality amongst many surrendered and homeless dogs: lack of basic training and socialization.
 
Due to inaccessibility of high-quality dog training resources, which are largely prohibitively expensive, countless dogs wind up abandoned in shelters. Many of these dogs languish in shelters for months, or even years, only to ultimately be euthanized. The ones lucky enough to be taken into well-meaning rescues are frequently shuffled from foster home to foster home, which only exacerbates behavioral issues and ultimately makes it harder and harder to permanently place them in loving homes. 
 
But what if pet owners in need could simply apply for aid? How many dogs and families would be able to remain together if they just had a bit of support and could be empowered through no-low cost dog training and behavioral education resources? That is the ultimate goal of Diamond Dogs Inc.; to prevent dogs from being surrendered in the first place by offering assistance to dedicated, struggling dog owners who are in need of guidance from an experienced, reputable professional. 
 
In addition, our goal is to train and rehabilitate dogs whom have already found themselves homeless. Once thoroughly evaluated and properly socialized,  trained, and vetted, these Diamond Dogs will be placed into homes by utilizing a highly curated matching process, thereby substantially increasing the odds of permanent placement with loving families.
